Lade. About us. In 2002, two snow junkies arrived in British Columbia, Canada and immediately ended up in Whistler, unknown to each other. That winter, separately, the snow-philiacs began to turn some heads and attract attention. One for his elaborate handcrafted touques (beanies), and the other for his unique art style, showcased in the local newspaper. Naturally, the two transplants met snowboarding a fine powder day and, both having already been impressed with the other's work, LADE Clothing was born. LADE is the turnpoint where water becomes ice and ice becomes water. It is freezing, melting, and the energy that's transformed at this point. The earth is 75% water and our water makes up 80% of each of us. Water is the base of everything and the energy of Lade is a root for everyone's style whether it's snow, skate, surf, film, music, whatever. For decades, the West Coast (San Francisco, LA, Mexico, Vancouver) has been creating great counter cultures with surf, snow, music, and skating. Why not Whistler? At LADE we have confidence that Whistler has the right people and mindspace to create a new sense of respect and new ideas for life. Now, America- once creator of many amazing ideas and cultures- is facing a severe crisis because the world's greatest asshole got a second presidency. Now it is up to us to step up and build a new great cultural movement to carry us into the uncertain future. LADE's style and energy is a link between the two most prominent forces of our lives, nature and technology. We'll create an interspace between freezing and melting, between solid and liquid thoughts, between machine and spirit. From the speckled glass towers of a rain-soaked city to the sun-sparkling paradise of fresh tracks on a glacier LADE is there.
